How Pens are Made
Tools Needed
1. Wood cut to 3/4" x 3/4" x 3" to 5" Lots of it
2. Wood Lathe with Pen Mandrel
3. Lathe Tool
4. Drill Press
5. Vice for Pen
6. 12" Disc Sander
7. Bandsaw
8. Pen Press
9. Bushings
10. CA Glue
11. 2P-10 CA Activator
12. EEE Ultra Shine
13. HUT Wax 2 and 1
14. Barrel Trimmer
Select Wood, Pen Style, Mark and Cut
In this Pen I added "dots" walnut dowels to the pen top
Next I sand the blanks, Glue, Drill and install brass bushings
I now cut the blank on the Bandsaw and turn it on the lathe
Next I apply CA Glue to the wood surface, Sand and Polish
I now use a barrel trimmer to clean up the CA glue on the ends and press the pen together
